    Bathroom LED mirror wiring

Yes, but in a bathroom it must be RCD protected.

    Bathroom LED mirror wiring

Yes, except: Well no, in that case. You should fix that. No reason for non-RCD circuits in 2025.

Soundproofing Party Wall & under floor

That’s unfortunate. There may be gaps around the joists that you could fill, but even then you are still conducting sound from the wall into the joists. Honestly you are unlikely to fix it.

Stairwell lighting went off, needing advice

That’s surely the lights. Is there another fuse inside the MEM switch box?

    Does the intercom work?

    Does this quote look reasonable?

It boils down to whether the discounts that you get from your friends are more or less generous than the discounts that your builder gets. Ask your friend for his honest advice.

Soundproofing Party Wall & under floor

Which way do the joists run? Don’t expect miracles.

    I doubt it.

Dishwasher - New Cold Water Supply

Let’s see if anyone else comments on that. I don’t believe it’s common to fit non-return valves in dishwasher or washing machine supplies. Yes; you can just chop a short bit out of the pipe and insert the tee.

Dishwasher - New Cold Water Supply

(What do you mean by “check valve”? If you mean non-return valve, why do you think you need one?) Simplest option: https://www.screwfix.com/p/jg-speedfit-plastic-push-fit-adapting-appliance-tap-tee-15mm-x-15mm-x-3-4-/27471 Next simplest...

ECIR pre new c u or not

I got a quote for “EICR followed by new CU if satisfactory”, discussed in some detail with the electrician. The day came; he didn’t come himself but send a “lad”. The lad immediately popped out the cutout fuse and removed the old CU from the wall, with no testing. Moral of the story: they’ll...

    Lights flickering

LED bulbs do tend to start flickering when they are about to fail. It may seem unlikely that several are failing at the same time, but coincidences do happen. Did the "electrician" not suggest that it could simply be the bulbs failing?

    Lights flickering

What sort of bulbs are they? Have you tried replacing them?

    Copper or plastic radiator tail.

Terminology note: "tails" are the things that join the valve to the radiator, and they are always metal. I'm not aware of any reason why you shouldn't use plastic pipe into the radiator valves.

Cold water copper pipe, insulate or not?

The humidity inside the wall will be lower than in the bathroom - at least it should be! - so the danger of condensation onto the cold pipe is lower. Insulating the pipe would still be good practice.
