I also work in social housing ...I would say 80% of the "tenants" don't know what side their bread is buttered. There mentality is totally different than what me or most other workers. Sounds very streotypical but unfortunately true.

Think it's very harsh to call them muppets if they didn't know what was wrong with your boiler and didn't charge you I don't know what they have done wrong not every engineer knows everything (unlike some on here) :-p

Stop worrying and just do it the normal way and put them under floor...if there done right they won't ever leak

Turn your heating on and leave it until it reaches full temp and see if you get any drips from blowoff

Deffinatly sounds like that...can be pressure vessel but your pressure would usually go sky high when heated if it was tha

You could make an upstand in you waste pipe work and terminate it into that (who can stop you) Although it should be sent out side always falling , in a place what won't cause harm if it did discharge and were it can be clearly seen
