plumbelec i initially did the job myself then as posted i got a firm in to rectify my mistakes. the pipes are standard 15mm to the rads, and the pump was fitted by a registered plumber, their are no manual bypass valves etc. as per prior post i have switched off 8 rads, the 3 remaing...

plumbelec. what i failed to mention is that after my mistake a brand new pump was fitted, so your theory does not hold water, pardon the pun. okay situation so far is that all rads are getting warm but not to temperature, think there may still be a blockage somewhere and it may be a case...

Well said, we are all here for one purpose either to help or be helped, the negative comments should be left off this forum. If you don't have any thing nice to say, saying nothing is always a good policy.

DIYnot is a site setup to help people like myself, who have tried and failed, this is a free site !!!. And yes i do regard myself as a little unlucky due to the fact that i tried and failed that got in what i assumed was a professional company who appear to have bodged it somewhat...

Softus good sound advice, the invoice says X400 x 4 and x 100 x 2, the bottles where sealed as i picked one up to see what they where using and all factory seals appeared to be intact upon inspection, i appreciated this does not negate the fact they could have tampered with the seals, but...

well we live and learn, the price they charged wasn't micky mouse, they say you get what you pay for, not always the case as this wasn't the cheapest quote and appeared to be a large company also. But proving the point that you don't always get what you pay for.

just checked the empty bottles and it was definitely X400 they used and not x300 as i mistakenly put on my other post, apologies for confusion. But i believe what you are telling me and it appears they have used the wrong chemical, this was not a free job and needless to say i will be on the...

tony dont presume things, the powerflush was not free by any means and i had no idea what x400 was but they left 4 empty tubs of it which is how i know what they used. one thing i have learnt is that you clearly are not on this forum to help people,so why bother making posts if they are...

Update, We got a company in to power flush the rads, they used X300 & X100 and did the complete system. I still have a couple of rads that are not getting to temperature, and my stat appears to be getting no hotter than 17 degrees and no hotter, the boilers stat is on full. i have...

Softus Thanks for the constructive advice, i have now managed to get some of the rads working in a fashion by draining the system a couple of times and using a wet & dry vac to suck the water out of a rad, a little unconventional but it appeared to remove a bit of crap still in their. So...
