I live in a three floor apartment block and whenever i run my water hot or cold the people downstairs are demented with a constant clicking, like woodpecker like banging noise, enviromental health said it was water hammer, (people downstairs complained) correct me if im wrong but water hammer...

turned the lockshield 1/2 way but the whole thing just started cooling down and going cold. im gonna have to go throught the rubbish bags to find the plastic caps that were in the inlet outlet valve on rad.
pipes on trv and lockshield are roasting hot, some strips are heating up nicely but others are refusing, im tee'ed off and going to take a wee breather.
yup, definitely, all lockshields and trvs downstairs are off rad cold but this bugger refuses to heat up, there are thin vertical strips and large vertical strips all thin ones are heating up and only one of the large vertical ones is heating up.
i presume its up the right way because when it came from geyser, where i purchased it the bleed valve and and its partner were already in place. screwed in.
Im at wits end, bought an all singing dancing vertical stainless steel rad, its been bleed many times, 8 rads have been turned off downstairs TRV and lockshields and there are still a couple of columns which are not heating up any suggestions?
