    Moisture coming thru concrete floor

The mould isn't really on the walls or ceiling, it's basically on stuff stored in room that has the capability to rot - cloth, cardboard, paper, even wood. Nothing outside the room has mould. Outside being an underground garage, which has some ventilation via mesh garage door. Since...

    Moisture coming thru concrete floor

I've left the door to the room open the last day and while it's a securiy risk, the wet patch on the floor has gone. When is it better to use a dehumidifyer as opposed to a ventilation fan?

    Moisture coming thru concrete floor

Hi, I've got a storeroom which is slowly getting growing mould on lots of stuff. It's got breeze block walls, plus a concrete floor and has zero air circulation. From reading on the forum I figured the first thing I'll do is put in a ventilation fan to start air moving through the room...

Thanks for the info, that was a lot of fun! And I have a hot water system that doesn't suffocate itself after a minute too :-)

    Cutting holes in metal cabinet?

OK I've bought a couple of 1mm cutting disks. If I am cutting a total distance of maybe 1.5m, will the disk overheat? Should I stop every now and then or are they OK to just keep on going?

    Cutting holes in metal cabinet?

I'd intended on cutting straight lines so I could bend the metal sheet over and align it with the exit on the heating unit to make a nearly airtight exhaust path. I've never cut metal before, am I headed in the right direction for a straight line cut using my angle grinder and a cutting disc...

    Cutting holes in metal cabinet?

Hi, I have to cut some holes into a metal cabinet housing our on demand gas hot water systems because it doesn't have enough ventilation. The metal looks like about 2mm galvanised steel. Will I be OK if I get a cutting disc of some sort and use my angle grinder? I think the grinder is a...

How to cut circular hole in breeze block?

The fan housing is square and will cover a messy hole. Would it be possible to use the masonry drill to drill a bunch of holes in a circle and then maybe try to score between them and then knock the middle bit out? Or do the blocks crack easily enough that I should avoid trying this sort...

How to cut circular hole in breeze block?

Hi, I've got to cut a 160mm round hole thru a breeze block wall to fit an exhaust fan. It's not a structural wall. I've got a small cold chisel, plus a masonry drill, should I just go for it? Is there any chance of cracking the block or anything I should be careful with? Thanks, far
