Hey there I'm currently trying to work out the "best" way of handling the framing and finish for a door opening between our new kitchen and utility. The opening will end up about 295mm deep, which consists of a 215mm block on face wall, plus 25mm battens and 15mm pb + skim on both sides...

So I wasn't planning on boarding the garage ceiling, as it's a warm deck roof anyways, and there's guna be a bunch of cables and pipes that will need to be run at various times.. Will reach out to BC again to see what they'd accept.. Thanks

Thanks for the suggestions @^woody^ ... Double layer of board sounds like the simplest option. Just need to work out how to handle the posi joist area above the new divinding wall... Intrumiscent collars did sound a bit extreme to me, especially given not guna have a car or flammable...
