Many thanks for responses. I have put a simple double switch on and crossing fingers not too many more blown bulbs and tripped mcb.

Hi, new here today. Have been trying to run 2 sets of lights. Each set is 6 x 50 w Halogen. so total 600w. I have been using a 400 w Dimmer but from reading here, this isn't enough, as halogen require double the wattage for the switch ? I am happy to go back to a basic double switch...
