Just done another manual drain, then put machine onto spin cycle. I can hear a "chonk, chonk, chonk" from the pump prior to the spin starting. Does this mean its actually working?

Hose appears ok, though did notice it was quite a way down the standpipe, so ensured it was only about 8 inches from the top. Manually drained the machine, then put into rinse mode. It let in water (which I guess you would expect as there was nothing to drain), but then the same thing happens...

A new motor? Is that the same as a pump?

I've looked at this a little further and noted that it is not carrying out the rinse cycle properly. It does not drain and re-fill. It sounds like it's trying to drain, it hums sometimes loudly, but won't. Thus it never completes the cycle and turns the soapy water endlessly.

Ok this is driving me mad! Wash stops mid rinse cycle with an F17 code. It appears to be, I think, at the point the water enters the softener section of the drawer (I am guessing as the main and prewash sections seem to flow nicely) But it doesn't happen all the time. I can rectify it...

Still having this issue. Tried a 90 degree wash on empty and seems to correct for a while, but a few washes later I get the error. Has anyone any ideas please?? Could the fact that the softener drawer doesn't always siphon the water out be related to this?

Keep getting the above fault code on my Bosch WAE24868 washing machine. Happens on rinse part of cycle ( so on a normal cotton cycle which is timed at about 1hr 13, it happens around 40 mins left ), but only seems to happen when washing present in machine. Doesn't happen when machine empty...
