Hi opps, thanks for the reply the room is a downstairs bedroom, sorry no photos but as stated this is only effecting one small corner and no sign of problem in the a joining bedroom.

I have recently painted a bedroom and one corner of an outside wall as gone very powdery, the wall has had a damp course, although that was about 40 years ago, it also was insulated about ten years ago, this problem only effects about 1 square metre in the bottom corner, any help please.

Yes Richard it is the inside of an external wall which is now dry but because the property was empty for a long while i presume that the damp occured some time ago, i think it could have been some kind of leak that caused the problem. which now seems to have cleared.

sorry to have been a bit dim but it is an internal wall that work intails, the outside rendering is ok.

I have a outside wall that as been ravaged by damp, would a plasterer require all of the crumbling wall chipping away prior to them replastering, and a rough guide as to cost wall size is 5mX2.5m thanks
