@jj4091 Cheers for that but they seem to have written that about a decade after mine was produced ... entering the required information on the Elica website results in a "sorry, not found" (I do have an email to them outstanding, no response yet ...)

Recently moved into a property and the extractor hood (ELICA QUAD TC IX A/43X43, circa 2008?) does not appear to be working properly - Metal filter & cover were caked in grease, now cleaned - The display flashes either "A" or "C" (not sure why, see below) alternating with the fan speed number...
