Ford Escort Estate Front brakes binding - three problems

Thanks for that. Very interesting. I have thought it must be something in the servo - maybe the actuation, but haven't been able to find out how it works. Your suggestion certainly fits the facts. Thanks again. Pity servos are so expensive!

    Siting of boiler controls

But Dave, they don't have to be there! In this installation the CH and DHW pipes came down to the old boiler. All that was needed was straight boiler replacement, keeping the pump in the boiler and putting the controller and motorised valves nearby. Instead there was two days work replumbing...

    Siting of boiler controls

Isn't it standard practice to put the programmer/control unit near the boiler? It seems common sense to have them there and it certainly makes it easier to control the boiler and sort out any faults. Is there no requirement for this? My landlord has updated the (oil) central heating here...

    Possible breaches of wiring regs?

Thanks for all the replies. Ironic that I seem to have higher standards than the people who did the work, but the government won't let me do it! My boiler goes up to 90'C, and I would have thought that a loose floorboard pressing pvc wiring against a hot pipe would over the years make quite...

    Possible breaches of wiring regs?

Not clear how either of those affect it. Either it is in breach or it is not...? Work carried out by 'electrician'. No certificate issued yet - system allegedly not commissioned - although up and running!
