Thanks guys for the swift replies. The noise is definitely coming from inside the boiler casing. The 3-port valve is 3 metres away in a cupboard. I will try to link a video to this page.

delta t2 - not sure hat you mean by "seal" the system. Do you mean pressurise it?

If it's 450mm then it won't go under the ridge. Is there a minimum height that the f and e tank has to sit above the level of the highest radiator?

I have to re-site the f and e tank in the loft due to a loft conversion. Ideally I'd like to put it as high as possible just under the ridge, however there's very little room there now. What is the minimun height that the expansion pipe has to rise above the water level in the tank please? thanks.
