I'm going to be sticking some laminate flooring down in my room and the floorboards are cack, ideally I'd be using 6mm plywood to even it out but that works out blooming expensive would it be ok in this situation to use 6mm mdf instead?

I used google sketchup to draw it all, pretty easy to learn especially if you use the help files/videos/tutorials available
as for the shelves they will probably weigh more themselves than what I stick on them apart from the dvd storage one which will be reinforced
