Sorry I don't know what on flex means - is that the cable that feeds the switch? Just looks like standard twin and earth with a white...

Yeah I think that is it - I would love to know what though! I flipped some breakers with my multimeter connected and it's currently on...

It does nothing. Presumably whatever it was originally for has been removed.

Can't see that is does anything. Doesn't affect my electricity IHD live use when I switch it on.
I always assumed it was for the alarm...

You would have to trace it to what is on the other side of the wall/ up the wall...
