    Thanks, I tried wiring up as you have said but the tube is lighting at both ends - not along its full length. I tried another tube but still the same!

    The switch was used for the flourescent tube on & off. The security light had a permanent feed.

    I disconnected the wiring in the switch without noting where the wires went :oops: I have 3 core & earth coming from tube to switch, and 2 core & earth coming from security light to switch. Switch has a com & a L1. Can anyone tell me how to wire this back up correctly?
