Sorry i think we are at cross purposes The "no trip" shows 17 ohms at the furthest socket on the RFC The test at the board ( no trip) is 17.1 BUT the "normal" test shows 14 thats when the RCBO trpped.

The ZE was a 25 amp test The no trip loop at the board is 16.5 ohms If we have a power cut the RCBO trips!! I will do a ramp test when i get the oppertunity. Its not an issue as long as we are at home but its still a bid "odd" My MFT1502 is a bit long in thr tooth now but hey ho its all I have.

My Kitchen RFC RCBO trips if i turn OFF the power at the main switch. It also tripped last time i did a Ze test at the board. My supply is overhead concentic ( TT ) with a Ze of 14 ohms IR tests show 99.9 megs and continuity are also OK. Gas and water bonds are in place and everything works...

When i bought this property there where two concentric overhead supplies Talked to my local DNO and they came along and removed one F.O.C.

What happens if you disconnect the HDMI cable at the TV end ? Also why would it matter as if you have the disc player turned on then i assume you would be using it?

Continuity test ( only have a multimeter ) shows continuity from the metalwork to the consumer unit. And the central heating pipework.

Sorted... Managed to dig the cable out of the glue and get a connection to the earth wire... Thanks all.

It may be possible to extend the present cable BUT its buried in the glue that holds the ceiling rose up... If I pick up an earth from another fitting will that have to be 4mm also ( It is not feasable to replace the cables without MAJOR floorboard removal etc ) I intend routing the earth cable...

I need to run an earth from this light fitting to the Earth terminal in my CU. Does it have to follow the same path as the supply cable? The original cable are very short and the CPC is not connected.

You say its shotgun cable ? Where is the other half ?

Or a scope of course...

Providing the positives are connected together ( and the negs of course) then all would be well... not the other way round though..
