Thanks to both of you, as this suggests the clear bit goes directly onto the flush. However the guide doesn't show the other end of the connection, the clear pipe has a t-connector in it so not sure which bit of that to connect and where? Also where does the green pipe attach to inside the...

Just to clarify, the clear tubing is not attached to anything (but it should be!). The green tubing could be wrong but looks right to me.

Thanks, I have looked at that, one of them does look like the set-up I have but none of the diagram show any of the pipes :(

I am an absolute novice (to put it politely) and am trying to sort out my toilet. It suddenly stopped flushing today, the cistern is still filling up fine but the flush itself doesn't work, you can make it flush feebly by pressing inside yourself but I thing it needs a vacuum which isn't there...
