Looking for a smarter way to manage your heating this winter? We’ve been testing the new Aqara Radiator Thermostat W600 to see how quiet, accurate and easy it is to use around the home. Click here read our review.
New fan motor did the trick. Finally have heat & hot water again.
Thanks to everyone who took the time to throw ideas at me - and apologies to everyone whose advice I totally ignored - got there in the end though :P
I have a lot of respect for this site - and although I went a long way...
OK - I removed the fan this morning and had it tested by an electrical contractor I do business with - it ran for a minute then promptly spontaneously combusted - this explains the 1 amp fuse blowing. The motor must have been on its way out when I put a feed to it last week, but without the...
Agile & DP - thanks for the advice on the APS connections. They were arse about face compared with the original unit. Swapped them over and tried again. This time a bit of progress - the 1 amp glass fuse on the PCB blew when I flicked the HW switch.
I checked the fan circuit resistance - it...
The connections to the APS are OK and the switch is working - I've blown down the case connection tube to test it - but how would that stop the fan from kicking in. Surely the fan needs to be running first to pressurise the case in order for the APS to operate.
Is there any straightforward...
I've checked the switched live connection to the terminal block and have now noticed that it has a live feed as soon as I power up the programmer (EP2000). It remains live when I flick the CH & HW switches on the programmer - is this normal. I had assumed that the switched feed would provide...
Correction - One thats not turned up - two others who are obviously too busy to listen to their answerphone messages.
Alternatively - they may all have migrated to your neck of the woods for the Challenge Cup Final tomorrow - I live in Warrington and we play Huddersfield at Wembley tomorrow -...
Have gone back thru the fault finding charts - still no voltage across T6 & T7 for fan, the APS circuit on T5 & T7 is closed thus suggesting control unit?
The thermostat fault finder chart gives voltage to the unit but not a closed circuit across connections 3 & 6 on stat which suggests replace...
The switched live supply is operating - I am assuming that this is the signal from the programmer that operates when the CH or HW switch is flicked and the appropriate stat is calling for heat?
On my way home now to check it.
By the way - I am waiting for a boiler specialist to get back to me, but this is the third day he hasnt turned up so I'm having a go myself. I am an engineer with some experience with heating systems - mainly industrial, and I am aware of the potential dangers...
I've tried ramping up the room stat to max, along with the boiler stat. It still isnt kicking in when both the CH & water switches are on - I had presumed it too coincidental that both systems would fail at the same time.
The boiler has stopped firing up. The programmer, pump and divertor valve are all working. After reading several posts on this site and using the fault finding charts in the manual, I have now hit a brick wall.
The fan is not running - there is mains voltage coming into the PCB but nothing...
