Had A Fall Out With Tradesmen

Appreciate all the replies, maybe I shouldn't have spat the dummy so early. So all said and done, after I done some googling for alternative ways to ensure the blocks would not move leaving out the haunching, and there is industrial strength glue, for sticking down the blocks anyone heard of, or...

Had A Fall Out With Tradesmen

Hi Charlie can you explain what you mean please, are you saying it is too weak in that shape and should be spanning the area further and higher to the edging, however have a 45 degree angle as others are saying cheers.

Had A Fall Out With Tradesmen

Thanks, yep I couldn't get why it was stepped, and not at 45 degrees, I'm no expert at sowing grass, however I've done it, but I've found it hard for the edges to take on, when I've had six inches of soil.

Had A Fall Out With Tradesmen

Hi thanks, so was I wrong to question the tradesmen, I just thought the seeds would have no chance of germinating in the shallow soil, and the job would be done and 4 months down the line I wouldn't have the grass running right up to the edge of my patio, as I've read on other posts people with...

Had A Fall Out With Tradesmen

Hi as title I was in middle of getting a porcelain patio layed, then I was going to grass seed whole area, however I questioned the haunching. It comes out from my edging blocks at least 50 to 60mm wide, possibly more I never measured, and is square not angled, and is 40mm below the edging...

    Draught Proof Windows

Hi I would like to draught proof my council house windows from the inside, there double glazed open outwards, and you can turn them all the way to clean them, I'm thinking about just getting the standard P shaped stripping comes double and sticky back. However the size seems pretty the same for...

    Concrete Correct Size Of Aggregate

Hi thanks for the reply, so when you see the experts on YouTube doing a huge slab, and you see the concrete getting pumped in, then two people or more screeding, after that they go over it with a bull float, are they not showing the part where the large aggregate is getting bashed Down eg...

    Concrete Correct Size Of Aggregate

Hi in order to obtain a nice tidy smooth slab of concrete, eg for a drive, a shed etc, should the mix contain, large and small aggregate, eg 20mm stones 10mm, or even 10mm down to smaller gravel, obviously sharp sand, I believe if you ordered a ready mix to your property, it would have a precise...

Sharp Sand Or Builders For Drive

If the stones do come to the surface how do you push them back down, cause I've not done alot if this I think I get a bit anxious and trowel the mix too early could that be the issue also? could I go about it different this time for my drive, I've used crushed rocks again, for a base, could I...

Sharp Sand Or Builders For Drive

Sharp Sand Or Builders For Drive

I had crushed rocks for a base as well, maybe that's why the mix wasn't as easy to move around, was trying to save on ballast for other jobs, I think I got one mix wrong, cause the stones in the ballast seemed stuck when I was trying to move them around, I was screeding with wood maybe I should...
