Probably a daft question, but what are these plastic fixings, are they to do with the roughcasting process and can they now be removed? I want to tack those three cables just below the edge of the roughcast and then cover them with plastic capping but the fixings are in the way, can I either...

I have a 1960s house in Glasgow, the window ledges outside are covered in red tiles that are plain quarry red, 23mm x 16.5mm in size and 10mm thick. A few of them have fallen and smashed and I need to replace them as a matter of urgency before the rain starts to get into the bricks underneath...

No John, to me it just looks like iron or aluminium, as I said it's quite thin and not at all like cement. It's hard to tell from the photos, I could try and take some closer ones.
