I've painted new wood with emulsion. It's very quick and easy to apply compaired to gloss. But it does become 'grubby' very easily and isn't as hardwaring as gloss. In areas were the wood gets a lot of 'handling' you may find you need to give it a coat of clear varnish.

Looked in the airing cupbard today and notice towels wer wet. On closer examination I noticed a small drip of water from the underside of the cold water tank at the top of the airing cupbard.
I'm not sure if the water is originating from where a pipe comes from the bottom the the tank or from...
My boiler has just started making a high pitch whining, squeeching noise!
The boiler is a Glowworm Fanned Flue model, so I was wondering if the noise is coming from the fan bearings?
It certainly doesn't sound like any noise I've heard before from a boiler!
I'm in the middle of tiling my bathroom and also use a water cooled tile saw. I use a fine permanent overhead projector pen and dry the tile before marking it.
One idea I had was to use treated round tree stakes (about 2" diameter).
I was going to cut them to different lengths and then hammer them into the ground around the lawn to give an interesting random height edging. Every so often one stake would be hammered deeper to give increased support...
According to BS EN 60898 the tripping characteristics are:
Type B: 3 to 5 x Rated Current
Type C: 5 to 10 x Reated Current
Type D: 10 to 14 x Rated Current
