Just ordered a replacement PDV. Should I remove stuffing box and use silicon grease on the threads? I wouldn't have thought it was necessary on a new part and don't really want to disturb it but maybe it's common practice. I checked for tightness when saw it was leaking but it wouldn't go up...
Thanks The831Bunny.
HW now working ok. CH flaming for a few seconds and then flames die. Have bled everything you suggested except MHE bleed.
Left CH on constant and just checked again. CH has come back on and rads warm. So all is working.

Back from 5 days in Cornwall, hence delay in posting.
Have just replaced PDV valve, pressurised system, bled heat exchanger and removed cap from auto air vent behind pump - very slight bubbling/sound of air.

What's your advice on draining the boiler to work on the differential valve?
Mike

Saw there was a leak from diff. valve. Dismantled and cleaned pins/stuffing box (will get new diaphragm on Monday)...
Just to let anyone watching this post - dishwasher working. Hope I haven't spoken too soon.
Removed water tank by turning plastic water inlet inside washer 1/4 turn anti clockwise. Then able to lift tank up and away once small plastic locking tab pressed in. Removed reed switch circuit board...

I want to check the reed switch. How do I remove...
