HI,
just a quick update. After they came back this morning, I have now a logbook duly filled and signed (with Corgi IDs numbers). I should receive shortly a letter from WB and from Corgi confirming the boiler registration with them. The gas pressure at the boiler has been retested as well as...
Well, on the Corgi website, it says "It is good practice to fill out this document". Good practice doesn't really mean requirement? Having said that, I agree with you and will ask if I can have at least a copy of it
Well, I just had the reply from WB technical service. Here it is:
So, that pretty much solve the pipe diameter and the logbook questions. Even if I agree that it would be better if I have the paperwork...
I'll just have to sort the valve thing.
Well for me, all that counts is the fact that it's safe and efficient. I really couldn't care less about the level of "untidiness"... although I will mention it when the guy comes on Monday. The important bits that I will question are the 15mm vs 20mm pipes (but I might find that like some...
Aaah, I think my installing company is an accredited Bosch installer. It's also the reason why they offered me 3 years warranty instead of the usual 2 years offered by the others, which, BTW, was one other reason why I choose them.
Thanks (I started to feel very guilty reading all this!). Although I try now to do everything I can now to fix that before it's too late (after all, I haven't received the invoice or paid yet). I also contacted Worcester Bosch technical service, with the same picture, to have some sort of...
which I am going to say when they are coming back on monday. But they are definitely Corgi registered.
Thanks anyway for the comments, eventhough they don't make happy reading for me!
Yes, but my point is they are NOT unknown people. They are a company with (apparently) good reputation over here, for which I had recommendations as well. Actually, they were supposed to be "very good but maybe slightly more expensive than others!"
I would say there is about 6m from the meter to the boiler, with a small gas cooker right next to the boiler. I also have a small flame gas appliance (not really used) in my living room, about the same distnace from the meter, but no idea where it branches off.
Thanks, I fell slightly better... When they are coming back on Monday, I may point out that it looks a bit shabby but I am not going to insist on that. After all, as long as it's working and safe. But I will definitely question the bypass. The Worcester Bosch documentation says clearly that for...
I know what you are saying, but at some point you have to make a choice/balance between recommendations and price asked. Or do you systematically go for the highest quote? All of the 3 installers I asked for a quote had some sort of recommendations, and short of knocking on people's door to take...
Hi,
As I said above, it was a possibility that they would need to open the floor but they found it was not necessary as the gas pressure was tested (all the other installers I ask said the same thing). The pipe from the gas meter is 22mm and prob. just a few meter of 15mm before joining the...
Actually, ALL the installers I asked for a quote (including the most recommended one) said that it's not necessary if the gas pressure is tested and is ok. The 15mm probably run only for a few meters: there a 22mm pipe coming out of the gas meter which probably goes down to 15mm under the floor...
