It's a creda with frost protection and two dials for economy mode and comfort mode

If I bought a heater with a 3core cable 2 core 240 live and neutral would the heater work in comfort mode and economy mode with out connecting the black pilote wire

So if I get a programmer to control the panel heater will I have to leave it in automatic mode on the heater for the pilot wire to work and does the programmer have a built in stat
