I read that if I use plugs and screws into the tiled wall, the screws might split the tile. Is this untrue?

Job for inlaws.. so I have to be careful. Tiled wall, I believe D&D over external garage wall, brick. Usual 2 pipe tails protruding from tile, on 150mm centres. Looking at the support brackets that slip over the pipe tails, they seem to need to be very flat to the tile, so I don't think...
