Loft Boarding, Insulating and Joists Project for storage

I didn't know that, although I haven't encased any cables any more than they were originally so I'd imagine that should be ok. Doesn't look as if anyones moved anything (insulation) about up there since the house was built, and with all the building reg's nowadays they should be aware of...

Loft Boarding, Insulating and Joists Project for storage

Thanks! Yeh, It's only going to be used for the odd few boxes etc, and I'm trying to load them mainly where the bedroom walls are for extra support. If any cracks start appearing I'll probably shrink the boarded area just to be on the safe side. I marked where the cables were on the...

    Valley Guttering problem

The battens should be cut to the inside of the "water bar". The valley is made from GRP (Glass Reinforced Plastic). As you can see on the photos, just underneath the edge of the tiles (where the battens end), you can see where the GRP valley looks a different colour, and rough-looking - this...

    Masonry paint nightmare, please help.

Was reading through the thread and came to Tonys post - pretty much what I was going to suggest. Graffiti remover, then brick acid on the entire paving to keep it all the same colour/shade.

    Metal Shed

That is definitely a disaster! I would be absolutely gutted haha, not as gutted as the shed though! That wooden one looks a lot nicer anyway, I didn't think they'd look that good with a metal roof actually. Very smart.

    hammer

Sounds like a case of the panics! First thing I would of done is get straight to the stop tap, then take your time to get the chipboard up lol.

    Loading

Plain selfish and a blatant dis-regard for other people really. The main thing you should be thinking about when loading up is safety, and other people. Not about getting your materials home in one piece. I wouldn't of even put a single sheet on that roof rack, there's simply no good anchor...

Loft Boarding, Insulating and Joists Project for storage

We recently moved into a semi-detatched, 5 year old house. The loft is fairly spacious, and the roof pitch is very steep, allowing for a good area in the center of the loft (where the hatch is) to be easily walked around in. I wanted to board the loft to create a large storage space...
