Stud Wall - Help Speeding Up

Thank you much appreciated. That does look like it would save a lot of time. Only problem would be that it would mean I couldn't push the 130 millimeter insulation board in without think of chunk out.

Stud Wall - Help Speeding Up

Sorry posisbly daft questions.... how would I fit the packers at the end. The packers are drilled and roe plugged into the wall, which I wouldnt then be able to get to.

Stud Wall - Help Speeding Up

I'm currently building my first stud wall after much advice on these forums. But my god, it's taking me forever! The wall is 100mmx50mm studs, sitting around 150mm from the stone wall, in prep for the insulation going in. The issue im having is how long its taking me. Each vertical stud is...

Internal insulation on back of exterior wall

If its an old build in a conservation area, it could be that there is no cavity wall....in which case having a cavity behind the insulation/battens would be correct.... although 2cm would be a bit narrow. Also regards thermal bridging, if the frame has been constructed via a top and bottom...

    Insulation + Vapur Barrier

I'm working on converting an old outbuilding into a couple of rooms. 200 year old building with single stone wall, around 40cm thick. After much advice Ive built the stud wall, and have bagged a good deal on some bulk insulation that will do the walls and floor. I was planning on 100mm but...

To Lag Or Not To Lag

Total run is 20m. They are flow and return clipped to eachother...so just a few cm apart.

To Lag Or Not To Lag

I'm in the process of securing 22mm flow and return pipes around what is a barn conversion. The pipes are above ground, behind a kingspan insulated slat-wall. Is it best practice to lag the pipes? Cheers guys.

    Securing Mains Cable

I think Im going to go with the wall option.... puerly as it allows me to get that job out of the way before the stud wall. Will bang some insulation tape on the drill so not to go too deep.

    Securing Mains Cable

Thank you.... my tiny brain is struggling to understand how hammering a pin in will cause the plug to expand in the wall, but that looks like a good solution! Will give me 16 year old helper pleanty to be getting on with!

    Securing Mains Cable

Ahh yes understand. Theres no way in a month of sunday that a nail is going into these bricks....its a 300 year old barn and the brickwork seems impenetrable. Are you saying you put screws through the clips? these are the ones Im looking at from screwfix.

    Securing Mains Cable

We are just in the process of renovating an old outbuilding, which is going to involve a floating stud wall covering all the walls. Is there a best practice for securing the twin and earth into the safe zone? Id prefer to secure it to the brick before the stud wall goes up, but 2.5mm cable...

    DPM Sheeting or not?

Been scratching my heads guys....Im putting up a stud wall, against a 300mm thick external wall, which has no cavity. Im attaching the stud wall via the top and bottom, not through the brick, and will leave a gap between the battons/insulation and the brick. I know I have to put a vapour...
