    Cladding gable ends advice

Thanks Foxhole much appreciated. I've also heard Hardie planks mentioned as a decent option? Any views on them rather than Cedral? Or is the Freeform UPVC decent? Thanks

    Cladding gable ends advice

I'm planning to get the gable ends on my bungalow cladded, partly to make it look more modern but also to reduce the maintenance, easy painting the rest etc. My walls are currently rendered so what options do I have and what would people recommend? I was thinking maybe cement weatherboard...

Accenta Mini 8 / Apollo Series 65 smoke detector problem

I have an issue with my Accenta alarm not triggering when the Apollo optical detector detects smoke. I have just had to re-program the system due to having a new front door, I decided to just use the PIR in the hall as zone 1 to save the hassle of wiring a contact sensor to the door and then...

    Rads not getting hot

Thanks boilerbeasty, I have been trying to read up on that but as yet can't find out how to remove the valve body on the TRVs. I have discovered that the ones I have fitted to the existing rads I had when I moved in are cr@p Tower ones and both the suspect ones are of this type. I can't see how...

    Rads not getting hot

Ok, I think I'm on the right track, have done as suggested and now the rads that were stone cold are now luke warm apart from one. I've tried opening up all the lockshield valves all around the system and this also helped slightly. I have a feeling the TRV on the cold one may be faulty as the...

    Rads not getting hot

I recently changed 3 radiators and have had trouble getting all rads hot since. I drained the system down to put inhibitor in and repressurised to 1 bar. I've tried balancing the rads, I have 12 in total and 7 are working fine (including the 3 new ones), 2 are getting warm but not hot and 3 are...

    Worcester 28cdi rsf igniting problem

Thanks guys. I was wondering if it was just the 'lighter' that was the problem as this would explain why it works fine once lit. Is this something I could check or change with limited knowledge or is a job for a specialist?

    Worcester 28cdi rsf igniting problem

I'm sorry, I'm not very good at describing my problem! Most of the time the boiler fails to light on CH and DHW. It usually takes 4 or 5 attempts at turning on the CH or turning on a tap before it finally springs into life. When it fails to light it sounds like it's all working fine until the...

    Worcester 28cdi rsf igniting problem

Hi ollski The left hand light flashes at even intervals about once a second. This is after approx 10 seconds of 'clicking' or attempted firing. Would this indicate air pressure switch? Are they expensive? Is it a job that I could do or is it a specialist only type job?

    Worcester 28cdi rsf igniting problem

By resetting a few times CH will eventually fire up and once lit it appears to work perfectly and doesn't cut out. On DHW it is hit or miss as to whether it works or not so we are tending to fire up the CH before we need to have a shower purely for convenience....nothing more frustrating than...

    Worcester 28cdi rsf igniting problem

Thanks guys. So is the problem likely to be a divertor valve? Sorry if that is a bit of a numpty question but I have no knowledge of boilers and plumbing at all

    Worcester 28cdi rsf igniting problem

Hi guys, newby here to this forum I'm afraid! I have a Worcester 28cdi rsf boiler and it has worked well until recently when I had a radiator swapped. I don't know whether the fault occurred because of this or whether it's a coincidence. When the job had been done the plumber had trouble...
