Yeah our was 5Kwh but now its 8-10Kwh when doing the whole tank. We don't sell our energy back as the scheme we are on - we basically get free solar panel and we can use as much solar we want whilst its being generated, anything left goes back to the grid and the company that gave us the solar...

Update - our plumber has fitted us with a secondary return pump which allows the water to circulate within the tank allowing us to heat the whole 180 L with the solar iboost works well. With this great weather we haven't turned on the HW using the boiler for almost 2 months.

Ah thats promising... Ah okay, does it go into the tank directly? Can you set it up on a timier (e.g. Just when its heating) as you dont want it circulating after say you had a shower as it will cool down the rest of the tank? 65 is high as i can set it. Im not sure i know those answers...

Thank you for you reply. We never really discussed the tank with our plumber he said just said he would get us the 180L one that would fit, the location of the element would never have occurred to us before that. He knew all along about the solar I boost. I have emailed him to raise the issue...
