The LIME content in these products creates a breathable finish, though the existing render is the issue and going over it with more sand and cement and then oaint will not cure internal damp. The old stuff has gotta come off and without a tower or scaffold...
Sound like a clear choice. Acrylic can be quite expensive thou' Try plastics direct for cut sizes. Original perpex is strong, some can shatter, so ask. Some of the decking materials might work for the posts and ballustrade.
You can ask Brickaid they do exactly that for new builds when brick mismatching happens. Not sure why you want them grey if they were sandy when new????
The latest trend is to turn dashing back to bricks using lime based finish like Decopierre or Blue FLag Base coat, then 2 coats 1st is the pointing color, 2nd the brick and then grooved out. Youtube it.
