Maybe you could use crushed concrete or stone? My brother used crushed stones from the quarry because it was a lot cheaper than the merchants. He used a thick layer so that it didn't push the mud up, he also put a membrane down first to help the stone bind better.

Hi Phykell. I would send the photo to some hardware suppliers to see if they have something that might work for you. If not, maybe send the photo to companies that do custom engineering components. They might be able to measure the old hinge and machine a replica.

Sorry I forgot to include that they are made from MDF. Do you think chipboard screws would hold the drawer? I'm not sure how heavy the drawer would be yet because its just an idea at the moment. Do you think there is a way that I can reinforce the connection of the bracket into the MDF somehow...
