I'm redirecting some gutters to go to a soakaway and I've also got some two ground floor basin wastes already going to a soakaway. Can I join them all together so it's ultimately just one pipe going to the soakaway? The only thing that worries me is if the pipe gets backed up higher than the...
I've got a cracked cloaked verge tile that needs replacing. Problem is, it's a Russell Pennine cloaked verge tile and I cannot find any anywhere. I've tried Redland Groveburys which have a similar profile and are still available, but the profile just doesn't fit. I imagine this situation is...
The plaster by this rad valve is bulging out and crumbly. My guess is it must be a leak in the pipe to the rad. Any other ideas?
It is dry to the touch however and dry powdery plaster seems to fall out
No it's white, potable. I'm pretty sure it's on a different circuit so won't affect the boiler pressure. I guess it's just coincidence that I pumped that unvented cylinder expansion vessel back up to 3 bar and now the boiler pressure seems to have stabalised.
@Jurassicspark and @xd400 thanks for the replies.
I yesterday realised the expansion vessel for the unvented tank was basically deflated. No wetness from the valve, just seems like I need to replace the leaky valve core. I pumped it up to 3 bar and today after a heating cycle the boiler...
Got a system boiler with unvented cylinder. Took out some water yesterday when the system was cold to lower the pressure from about 2.7 bar to 1 bar. Today it's back up to about 2.7 bar cold. I assume the filling loop might be leaking?
Do you think a one big tank would be the most efficient way of doing it rather than two smaller tanks? I'm just trying to think what the best solution would be as it's roughly 40% of the time 2 people, 40% of the time 4-6 people and 20% 8-10 people. Given the thermostat for the cylinder is near...
Looking at getting a new cylinder installed as the current 250l unvented one doesn't recover quickly enough. Sometimes HW demand is low with only a few people, other times it's high with up to 10 people. I think a fast recovery cylinder of similar size would be better than adding another...
@Notch7 Forgot to ask too, what control system (Nest, Honeywell etc?) do you use with you Ideal boiler and with weather comp I don't understand if you still use a room thermostat with that or not?
It is unvented indirect yes. I'm thinking I really do need a fast recharge actually. 4 bathrooms, I AirBnB it sometimes so can go from 2 people to 10 people. The existing 250 or 300L cylinder seems vastly undersized so changing to DHWP now might mean CH is off too much. Need to rethink.
