Where is the mesh filter on this inlet control group?

I had written a reply but it must've forgotten to post it! So all of this has been a learning experience for me. I do DIY plumbing but never touched pipework around the boiler/cylinder area. In total 3 things were faulty. Firstly the PRV valve on the cylinder was constantly letting by. I had...

Where is the mesh filter on this inlet control group?

Oh not bad really. Nothing gunky, just what seems to be a few large pieces of grit or stone. The mesh was about 95% clear. In the end I had to change the multibloc anyway because the pressure reducing valve was letting by. I looked at the rubber seal and half of it had eroded away! I had to...

Where is the mesh filter on this inlet control group?

Yeah no idea how they thought I could pull out the cartridge gripping on to a 6mm or so hex. It took a few very hard whacks with a hammer to push out. Although I do live in a hard water area and that things been there for 13 years or so.

Where is the mesh filter on this inlet control group?

SOLVED, in case anyone finds this thread in the future. # Range TS201 or Caleffi inlet control group multibloc 3/6 bar The 'head" in question is that grey part. Manual says to unscrew that part then use some grips to pull out the internal cartridge using the exposed hex head. The mesh filter...

How to drain CH and HW loop?

Thanks, yes that is the problem... No records or knowledge of a flush with new inhibitor since installation 12 years ago. It's my mum's place and she's just not done any maintenance on it. Lots of rad valves are leaky/full of weird crystallised looking rust under caps, and one is cold (I've...

How to drain CH and HW loop?

My first time doing so. The place hasn't had a flush in years. It's a system boiler with indirect invented cylinder. Is it possible to use the mains fill to flush the system out? So far I know to turn everything off and manually open the 3 and 2 port valves. But what valves should I close and...

Is it a requirement to have a second stopcock in the boiler cupboard?

https://www.screwfix.com/p/flomasta-compression-equal-couplers-22mm-2-pack/66818 I'm just using this and some 22mm pipe. There's one of those limescale fighter things above the stop cock which by all accounts seems to be snake oil, so might remove that too

Is it a requirement to have a second stopcock in the boiler cupboard?

Nope, both stopcocks do the same thing. Pipe doesn't tee off anywhere between the two. I just wanted to check in case there's some reg or something whereby a stopcock must be X minimum distance from the boiler for easy access.

Is it a requirement to have a second stopcock in the boiler cupboard?

The mains water supply goes under the driveway into the front of the garage where there is a large stopcock. It then travels about 3 foot into the boiler cupboard, still inside the garage, where there is another stopcock just before the multiblock and next to the boiler. That stopcock is...

Is my expansion vessel too small?

That's the 3 bar pressure reducing valve on the inlet multiblock right? So I did what you said. Drained a good amount of HW from the taps. I noticed it came out of the faucet quicker than normal then reduced down a bit. Measured the pressure on the Schrader which was 3 bar. Touched nothing for...

Is my expansion vessel too small?

Something weird is going on, I don't know. So the expansion tank now seems to hold pressure. No water coming out of the Schrader valve so I assume the valve was sticky or something. However, yesterday morning I isolated mains, opened hot and cold taps and charged the vessel up to 3 bar. When...

Where is the mesh filter on this inlet control group?

I'd like to clean the mesh filter. Cylinder manual says "Unscrew the head in the inlet control set and clean the mesh filter within". Which bit is that? (I know to depressurised everything before, don't worry) Thanks
