I use it on examples like patched in bonding on walls when rest of wall needs to be pva'd anyway, I just do the whole wall, It certainly dosent hurt to pva it. Just personal preferance really and always done it like that.

    plastering questions

Dot and dab, traditional way will cost you a bomb and more time consuming, hence more labour costs. Dot and dab boarding will have to be bang on flush edges ie: no big ridges etc, are you skimming it all yourself? or getting a plasterer to skim over your boarding? Prices vary, I personally...

How long to leave PVA glue on for?

Pva. We Pva all bonding, or undercoat plasters. We've never had any problems ever, usually I put on a couple of coats. You could also use bond it from British Gypsum.

    Mice in the loft

Lucky you have only mice, Ive had wild cats in a haybarn, still got scars from 20 years ago sorting those suckers out, was fun though with them being double jointed and all aswell. Do whatever works for you, poison or trap. Theyre not much of a problem to get rid of.

How long to leave PVA glue on for?

We let it dry, helpfull tip.. 2 coats of pva, epecially on high suction walls let both dry or at least second one slightly tacky. Always put on with a roller. 4 to 1 or 5 to 1, Tight coat if needed for bad walls. cheers

Flush or back a few mm as long as they dont protrude, Nothing worse than skimming round them

    Painting old walls

Hi, it dosnt hurt to give a base coat of white, If your going to be painting over an already dark coloured wall(s) with a lighter colour, I'd def do a base coat in white, usually a cheap wickes/b&q does the trick (just to block the darker colour permiating through) if painting over a light...
