Should have used TWash, other wise known as mordant solution like Kevplumb said.

You shouldn`t undercoat copper pipes, it often turns yellow . Just gloss, several coats if needed.

You have a problem because often liquids or substances will soak into new timber and stain it because it`s not sealed in any way. Good luck.

If you want to use normal paint on tiles you should first prime them with a specialist primer (dulux ultra grip 2 part epoxy is ideal) then the emulsion or gloss will adhere properly. If you don`t do this or use tile paint then you will not get decent long lasting adhesion to the tiles...
