I have briefly used the sink but not the washing machine. I'm reasonably sure the washing machine pipe connects under the sink with the pipes. I cant see the back of the machine as it's under a work surface and the builders moved it into place and presumably connected it.

Sorry for the silly question, but how would I know?

No, the pipes are all in a cupboard under the sink and there are no electrics in there. There's a washing machine next to the cupboard but not connected in any way or likely to be affected.
