I got round to powering down today and the system has reset - thanks REDSPARKY. I'm going to replace the panel as suggested and thought I'd better replace the external alarm as well as they are the same age. Do I just have to put up with the external alarm sounding when I take the cover off? The...
Thanks. I haven't powered down yet, partly because I'm worried that if I do and the key pad still doesn't work the outside alarm will sound and I'll have to stop it somehow so I need a ladder and partly because I'm in the middle of mending my wife's car!
I'll have a go at the weekend and...
The keypad on my AJ600 alarm is dead. Both fuses are intact, mains are connected, the battery is producing just over 14v when disconnected. When I removed the front cover of the panel the tamper alarm didn't sound. Has anyone any ideas to help please?
Using a mini digger through the small access would be a bit difficult I would have thought.
I've suggested to various contractors that a filter on the end of their pipe would stop the rubble entering their equipment but they don't want to know. It's not worth the bother I imagine, after all...
Thanks for the reply. A dredge won't work because there is too much rubble in the sludge, also the access is only about 0.5M x 0.5M so swinging something into the corners also won't be possible.
Thank you for your concern but I've already dug a few tons of rubble and dry 'sludge' out, plus...
I have a 2M x 2M x 4M deep septic tank in my garden, unused for years. I live in the south east and I'm certain we are going to have water shortages in the future so I intend running the rain water from my garage and various other places into it. It was nearly full of rubble, old iron and soil...
I went to my son's today and checked all the wiring thoroughly, making sure that it all went where it should and can find no problems. I had mis-labelled a couple of wires in the photo for which I apologise. I then went through the tests in 'Mid Position Valve Problems'. The diagnosis showed...
Gentlemen, I apologise, I don't seem to be doing a very good job of helping you help me. I'll print myself an enlarged copy of the photo of the wiring above and take it with me to my son's on Saturday. I'll bury my head deep in his airing cupboard (with a lead lamp) positively identify each wire...
A vist to my son's home today produced the following -
A better quality photo of the wiring
A photo of the room stat - there is nothing internally to identify it's type
The wiring is 1 - red, 4 - empty, 3 - yellow, 2 - blue, 5 - nothing
The cylinder stat is a Honeywell...
