    EWI basecoat cracking

Hey, this is practice for a pool ;). I have two walls that aren't really visible to practice on. Plus some offcuts of EPS to make a dummy training sheet. Going to shoot my shot Ref the cracking, technical have advised that proving the bonding to the eps is fine and the cracks are hairline it...

    EWI basecoat cracking

So, I may have screwed up my render. EWI-220 base coat over EPS with mesh embedded. Applied 5-7pm when it had cooled to just below 25C. Nightmare to apply, got grabby and pulled about the wall before I have got it flat, so the finish is hideous. It refused to firm up by 10pm to float it...

Cracks galore. Now worried about my base coat (yes. It has mesh in it) Seriously, this weather cand F right off. It's either too cold, too wet, too windy or too bloody hot to get anything done right.

It begins. It looks flat, but far from smooth. Going to leave it an hour and sponge it. I think the mix had too much water and it was a bit too warm.

Yup, it's very minor and doesn't span the slab width. About in the middle too, between the piers. I'm assuming it's the walls pressing down around the perimeter, hopefully just a settlement crack

    Oh crack! This isn't good...

Cheers SFK, I've considered it. All circuits going to be on RCBOs, so likelihood of lights tripping out is minimal. That said, accessable conduit wiring, I can always add it in. Need HVAC/environmental finished first then security

Let there be light! I'm a big fan of this ;) It's all wired back to a single flex on an IEC plug And the ring is in. It's been a long time as a building site, then a cave, but finally it feels like a building.

Anyone else find first fix oddly satisfying?

It's too hot to render. Can't roof until walls are finished. So it's time to start electrics. So far trunking is in (few more fixings needed) and I've started routing the light conduit. Conduit in piers all mostly line up with the metalclad... Mostly Couple of cable outlets to add for the...

It may only be 20mm think. But the cuboid cave is insulated on the walls. Yay. Now I'm hoping for some cooler weather to get the muck on. Until then, time for some electrics.

Thanks Andy. Though I fear the end is far away still. But.... The door is in and glazed And I have the insulation for the exterior walls The flashing is all in around the foundation insulation. Clearance is clearance is clearance I guess?

Progress! Retaining wall is complete at the front and the front garden is thus reinstated (much to the appreciation of the family) Step into back of the house and all the channel drain in (don't ask how well it drains :( ) All the tricky bits of stainless flashing is installed with only...
