To TonyW2 The cover unscrews, but there's not enough clearance to get a spanner or grips onto the nut - and there's not that much clearance left on the spindle to get something under the head to allow it to be "encouraged" off!

Thanks. Convinced problem is in the tap (as on previous occasion), but can't find a way of removing the 4-way (x-head) tap handle without risking damage (having removed the retaining screw, obviously). Similar to this one:-...
