    Pump overrun

Thanks for that. After a bit of reading I checked the Viessmann website and found that it says the boiler is fitted with an automatic bypass (same comment on UK website https://www.plumbnation.co.uk/site/viessmann-vitodens-200-w-35kw-combi- Would an integral bypass do the job or is a...

    Pump overrun

I'm thinking of zoning my heating system and have a Viessmann 200-W boiler. One option would be to site the motorised valves close to the boiler (and the control unit) but the potential downside to this appears to be the potential to close off all of the rads and have no where for the heat to go...

    Zones, pumps or something else

Having done some more research I suspect that the wiring actually needs to be run all the way from each of the valves back to the control unit. Is that right?

    Zones, pumps or something else

I don't get the champagne/beer reference! If I went down the route of zoning the house I would consider fitting a Danfoss 3 channel controller and then installing extra thermostats on the 1st and 2nd floor as I already have a single zone controller at the moment. Having looked at the kit I'd...

    Zones, pumps or something else

I have a 3 storey house with 17 rads (7 downstairs, 6 first floor, 4 top floor). The top floor is a loft conversion and gets cold very quickly if it's not heated. I find it very difficult to get heat to the top floor. I've got a Viessmann 35kW boiler so I've got the heating capacity for the...

Viessmann Vitodens 200-W temp regulation problem

I've been moving some radiators and have had the system drained down. Yesterday I put some system cleaner in to the CHW system. I went through the process of filling, and venting the boiler and all seemed to be fine. This morning when I had a shower the water was alternating between hot and...

    Viessmann

He has done the Viessmann course, I got his details from their website but he said that I'm the first person who has ever asked for W/C. Given how technical it sounds to set-up I'm now having second thoughts about going for it, especially with someone who isn't hugely familiar with it.

    Viessmann

if that is the case then how does it know what the house temperature is and when it has achieved set point? Maybe my understanding of w/c isn't good enough!!

    Viessmann

I am contemplating buying a viessmann 200 and the plumber has said that if i go for a weather compensation system then i will have very little control over the settings. I assumed that there would be an internal room stat (therometer) as well as the external probe. If I specify a temp of...

    Poor hot water flow

The first guy has been around and he said that he thinks the 100 is a cheaper and equally suitable alternative to the 200-W and suggested going for this. He also suggested considering the 222-F with it's storage tank as he doesn't think a 35kW boiler is able to get a decent enough flow for two...

    Poor hot water flow

thanks again - I've got the first guy around on Friday so I'll let you know how I get on.

    Poor hot water flow

Sounds reasonable to me. I'd been quoted £1600 to fit a Glowworm (can't remember the size, I think it was 37kw) which I wasn't convinced about - more the type of boiler than the cost. If it comes in near that then I would be impressed.

    Poor hot water flow

Thanks for that info. We upgraded because of lead and although I don't know what size the new pipework is we have a good flow of water with both showers running so I am assuming that it's now a case of how much water the boiler can handle. I was skeptical about the Viessman suggestion as I'd...

    Poor hot water flow

Many thanks for your help, I finally feel like I'm making some headway on this problem.

    Poor hot water flow

Having previously searched the internet and found nothing I discovered the answer to my question which is that my 24kw combi boiler can only produce enough heat for one shower (pretty much). There's a few things I'm still not clear on: i) Lots of the boilers talk about flow rates in L/min...
