Unfortunately not, think I'm going to give up on it. If it was just the slow spin or squeaking, I'd make the effort to get it fixed - but as it's both I'm concerned that repair bill would be more than the machine if worth :(

Forgot to say, it's an induction motor so worn brushing shouldn't be a problem!

I've inherited a Hotpoint Ultima WT960 washer, but it's not working correctly so I'm wondering if it's worth mending or just scrapping. The machine fills, washes, and empties correctly, but never spins up to speed properly. When turning slowly it is very quiet, but starts making a squeaking...
