Dave, Just thought I'd get back to you and let you know that I replaced the Honeywell valve and everything seems to be working fine now. Thanks again for your help. Icosowner

    Icos M3080 not heating water

Thanks Dave, The valve does have a pimple, so looks like I can just replace the head. I'll source the part and get it fitted. I'll let you know if it works. Thanks for all your help.

    Icos M3080 not heating water

Hi gas4you, We've never had a problem with the heating, so as you say perhaps we can rule out the pump and the boiler. Am I right in assuming that the "pump" is the Grundfos Selectric UPS 15/50? The other items I can locate are: - a Drayton Zone Valve Actuator (ZA6). This was replaced...

    Icos M3080 not heating water

By the way, yes it is only on hot water, the heating seems to work fine all of the time.

    Icos M3080 not heating water

Thanks for the reply gas4you. Hope you don't mind if I ask some more questions. Bear in mind I know nothing about plumbing. I'm guessing you are referring to the stuff I have in the airing cupboard. I have previously replaced the head of the "Zone Valve Actuator ZA6". That seemed to be...

    Icos M3080 not heating water

Hi, I have an icos m3080. It all works perfectly fine, except that occasionally, the water heating does not come on when it's programmed to do so. It can go months without a problem and then suddenly I get a cold shower in the morning. The timer seems to what it's supposed to, the...

    Ideal ICOS Boiler

Thanks for all the suggestions gas4you. I since played with it a bit more and found that the switch on the Drayton 2 port valve head was in the "a" position (it's an older one with only A and B marked on the switch as opposed to W, M, H). I turned the power off, manually moved the switch to the...

    Ideal ICOS Boiler

Thanks gas4you! I think our last two posts crossed. The current noise is coming from the Grundfos pump. I'm guessing that the tank is being filled (my wife just had a bath!). I can now see that changing either the Honeywell valve or the Drayton valve look to be all electrical jobs :) . Any...

    Ideal ICOS Boiler

Oh and by the way... - the boiler is in a utility so presumably no frost stat? - there is a Honeywell valve (replacement head code 4000 3916 - 001 not sure if the original is a V4043 or a V4073?) - there is also a Drayton Zone valve actuator ZA6 - and a Grundfos 15/50 pump (none of this...

    Ideal ICOS Boiler

I have exactly the same problem on an M3080 boiler. From this thread it would appear that it could be several things. I have removed the live feed from the terminal block and tested it as suggest (it's L2 by the way) and it definitely goes to "0" ok with the wire out. So that suggests an...
