    Boiler lock out after firing

Update: I am still waiting for the photocell to show up, but today the control box was delivered, Put the new box in place and the boiler is working fine. I will probably keep the photocell when it gets here, no harm in having a spare.

    Boiler lock out after firing

The photocell in it is a Satronic MZ770S, I ordered one from a plumbing and heating supplier, £15.39 including postage, hopefully will be here tomorrow or Thursday. It is a B11 burner.

    Boiler lock out after firing

I have just tried it using a torch to make sure there was plenty of light getting to the photocell as where the boiler sits is a bit dark, and it done the same, ran for 10 seconds and locked out. When the burner fired you can see the orange glow of the flame through the hole

    Boiler lock out after firing

Thanks for the reply. When I switched the multimeter to 2000k it did show a high reading in darkness and low when in light, I didn't think that was correct, especially as it was the opposite to what I seeing at 200k, but I did only go off someone on YouTube showing the same photocell and testing...

    Boiler lock out after firing

Hi all For background info, I have a Worcester Bosch Heatslave 20/25, it is at least 21 years old and over the years has had several parts replaced, also over the years it has gone through phases of constant lock outs, not firing etc, and I have used this forum a few times to point me in the...

    Heatslave 20/25 trip out question

It has been a few months, so I thought I would update. After changing the coil, at first it was still tripping and having to leave it alone for a while before it would fire up again. However, that seems to have sorted itself for the most part, I am still getting the odd occasion where that...

    Heatslave 20/25 trip out question

Hi everyone, thanks again for all the replies. I replaced the burner solenoid coil, but the problem still persists. it is doing the same as always, runs ok for a day or two, locks out. Sometimes it fires back up straight away, other times it takes multiple resets., either spread out other time...

    Heatslave 20/25 trip out question

Sorry, I missed this reply. I did have the solenoid replaced a few years ago, I will get a new one and see if that helps, from your explanation, it does make sense why it doesn't fire back up until it has been left alone for a few hours. The starting sequence is doing all things as you say, but...

    Heatslave 20/25 trip out question

It has the fitted alloy box, but it doesn't seem to matter if the burner cover is fitted or not.

    Heatslave 20/25 trip out question

Hi everyone I know there are quite a few threads already about this, but I can't seem to find one that matches my experience. I know my boiler is old, over 20 years since it was fitted, it was brand new, and over the years it has had almost everything replaced, but I still get lock outs very...

    Moving Bathroom Upstairs

If possible, I would hang the SB door on the same wall separating the bathroom so that is facing the top of the stairs. I guess it depends on the space at the top of the stairs.

    Moving Bathroom Upstairs

Rather than a corridor, I would put all the doors next to each to keep the space in the second bedroom. Sorry, not related to your question ....

Heatslave 20/25 no power to room stat

I can't get my multimeter into the block because the space is too tight, I will need to take the panel off again.. but, see below.. I put that link back in when I removed the room stat wiring and nothing was working. As above, the space is too tight for the length of my multimeter pins so...

Heatslave 20/25 no power to room stat

I checked where the room stat connects to the PCB and I am getting nothing. I checked between 2&6 and 3&6.
