    regs for local isolation

I've been handed a job by my boss which is to inspect a workshop type container. The workshop has 3 16A type 110v industrial sockets. The problem is that the manufacturer has not provided a means of isolation other than the MCB which I wouldn't class as being at all local to the outlets...

electrical installation work in hazardous environments

Electronicsuk, You are correct that an I.S circuit is simply a limited energy circit. The device which does this is the I.S barrier (this device should be located in a safe area but can be installed in a hazardous Zone if mounted in a flameproof enclosure). The barrier limits the energy...

    Ze, Zs, R1+R2 etc

Sorry, If you're going on the course you will need GN3 anyway. Have a look and you will see, there are clear diagrams for all tests. Suggest you borrow a mates tester and do a bit of practising. If it's 2391 you're doing then the course will not teach you how to test, you are expected...

Adding sockets to indapendent radial circuit

Why not extend the ring cct? Or Change the existing spurred socket to an FCU then power additional sockets from the load side.
