Boiler cutting out before CH temp reached

Seems like the PCB was the issue - this has been replaced and the boiler is working much better. Thanks for all the input. He connected it to where the pump was I think. The pump is a little scaled, and might get replaced later this year :)

Boiler cutting out before CH temp reached

So, we started off with the powerflush - it had been recommended when the boiler was serviced previously but we never got around to it but this last autumn I wanted to get it sorted. I'm no expert, but think I got the rads balanced alright, everything seemed fine. Then I noticed the system...

Boiler cutting out before CH temp reached

Right now the rads a pretty cool. I've just hit the reset on the boiler and it immediately came back on. Methinks it might be a boiler issue and needs the engineer back out... After 4 visits I had hoped today's fix was it as everything seemed fine!

Boiler cutting out before CH temp reached

It's a Potterton Promax 15 HE Condensing boiler. The only problem is, the rooms are simply not getting warm enough! I've currently got all TRVs fully up, thermostat set to 30 and nothings happening.

Boiler cutting out before CH temp reached

Hi, I'm having a problem whereby the boiler turns itself off before the temp has reached the setting on the room thermostat. I'm sure there was a time when it would keep going until the termostat temp is reached! We've had a powerflush done, I've balanced the rads and we have had the boiler...

Balancing Rads with 2 way trvs

Cheers for the help everyone, all sorted.

Balancing Rads with 2 way trvs

I've been playing about trying to balance our heating system and I'm now a bit confused about what to do. If I've understood everything, when balancing rads with no TRVs, the return is left fully open and it's the flow side that is adjusted. If TRVs are installed they are normally installed on...

    Myson MPE322 - Rest Position

Yes, it's in a bathroom nearest the hw tank. I guess that makes sense I will keep an eye and see how it all behaves, thanks! I've noticed the boiler keeps cutting out (and then firing up again) which makes me think there's air somewhere after we had a powerflush done. Does this sound plausible...

    Myson MPE322 - Rest Position

Brilliant thanks. So I guess if it's on dhw only then off it would stay in dhw position? One final thing, one rad (the one next to the airing cupboard) heats up when only dhw is on, does this suggest the valve itself isn't closing rather than the actuator not working correctly?

    Myson MPE322 - Rest Position

Yes it does. However, once the power is back on it stays there until CH is called for. When neither CH or DHW is on and it's reading at CH the unit gets pretty warm there's a sight hum and it feels like a motor is running. Once it's in DHW position (either by manual turning or power off) it's...

    Myson MPE322 - Rest Position

We've got a bit of a problem with our Myson MPE322 - I think the actuator isn't working properly. If I've understood things right, the rest position when everything is off should be the DHW position? Ours is resting on CH and so there's no resistance on the manual override switch unless DHW is...

Where to put room thermostat - upstairs masionette

Bought a CM927 at the weekend and after getting confused with the wiring, got some help from my Dad and got it all fitted. Really happy with it so far, next step is TRVs, new rad in the bedroom and then sit back and be toasty for winter.

Where to put room thermostat - upstairs masionette

Yes, I was thinking of just the Thermostat in the the spare room and TRVs in all the other rooms - if the Tortoise needs to the temp slightly highter than the rest of the house, we can use the TRVs to limit the temp elsewhere.

Where to put room thermostat - upstairs masionette

Thanks :D I'm thinking the spare room as we have a tortoise, so he needs the temp to bit a more regulated, so it might be the best place to have the Thermostat. It will be wireless so I may try both and see what suits us best.

Where to put room thermostat - upstairs masionette

Am I right in thinking this a job I am legally allowed to do myself as it involves the Boiler, but not fiddling with gas?
