I have 1/4 turn bath taps but they work fine on my low pressure system. Maybe it's the push fit connectors, some of them are not full-bore, they restrict the flow quite a bit, the 'cuprofit' ones are the only full-bore ones i've seen.

Hi, thanks for you reply.. The CWS is around 363 litres/79 gallons, if my calulactions are correct, well the size of it is about 550mm x 550mm x 1200mm, and it sits on a frame directly above the hot water cylinder. Can you point me towards some 22mm bleed valves? Doing a search on screwfix etc...

Hi Terry, Yes that's what i was thinking, but at the moment when i lift the shower head above my head, the water cuts out completely (as it goes negative...) and so would a pump interprete this as me 'turning off the taps' or would it carry on pumping until i actually turn off the taps/shower ??

No thats the thing, the odd bit of frying once a week is about all we do. Definately the thick crud in picture 2 is meat + fats from other people living here. Well i've scooped out the big sludge, and now rinsing it through, though it still seems slow even after snaking... I'll just keep on...

The really thick blockage in the 2nd picture may well be bacon/meat fats, as that section of pipe is over 20 years old and there has been various people renting the place in that time, so who knows what they shoved down the sink. In the first picture, that is new pipework installed in the last...

OK here are some pictures, is it any wonder it was a slow drain? Notice in the first pic, the sediment on the top of the pipe. The second picture is 4m from the sink, it's TOTALLY blocked.
