Sorry for late reply Dazdel , managed to get some waterproof pva and it looks to have worked a treat. Job done. Thanks for your reply though , if ever i need to do something similar in future , i'll see if i can get hold of some.

Hi Joe. Only slight problem might getting hold of some SBR over here. Managed to get the pva at Leroy Merlin (Spains equivalent of B+Q) but not too sure if i can get this. I will try tomorrow though. Many thanks.

Hi Richard. There was a small damp problem when we first bought the house just over 2 years ago but that has been more or less resolved. It could be a factor though and the waterproof pva could be the next step. Many thanks.

Thanks for that S/S. I have tried pva on a couple of other walls with mixed results , some small cracks have appeared in the artex but that could be down to the humidity , heat etc , but i will try it again. Ivor.
