Yes it will stop the fuse from blowing.
However the external bell if not placed in hold off may ring for 15 to 20 minutes or until power...

Go for a new / old stock if you can as the keypad buttons are a common issue
I normally take them out and clean with meths on a cotton bud

The system is no longer manufactured.
Says it’s tested, so assuming it’s all there it’s a straight...
