    Thanks for the help. The missing link was the extractor fan in the ensuite. Once it was wired in again everything worked. All your assistance was very much appreciated.

    I tried with a switch (using L1 one way and COM), then tried connecting the two reds to bypass any switch to find out if the ceiling light wiring worked. No luck.

    The lights are not working in the ensuite, main bathroom and the bedroom. All others are working. My only other thought is that there could be a light in the loft (haven't been up there). I'll check tomorrow if you think that could be the problem. Just in case so I don't have to climb up twice...

    No luck I'm afraid. Tried the wiring as I understood in the replies (crude pic attached). Tried using one red from the cable with the two reds, then tried the other red in the cable. Didn't work either way.

    No. I put them in blocks when I disconnected the original fixture. Decorator must have pulled some from block when shifting them about and taped them.

    Renovating the bedroom so removed the ceiling light, switch, etc for the decorator. Stupidly I did not think to take pics for the rewiring. To make things worse, the lights don't work in the bathrooms (ensuite and main) since I took out the ceiling light. Based on a little searching I'm guessing...
