Sounds like a plan - Aye when I said extract to the loft, I meant a ceiling extractor fan, vented to the fascia outside.

What would be the best way to block it up? Cement mix then dot dab plasterboard over it? Is this just glued onto the wall or is it part of the whole brick?

Some better shots. So like I was saying, this is pretty much where the shower is going to be (just to the left of it) I probably can't feel any air coming through it as it looks like it has 30+ years worth of dust and gunk filling up the holes inside. I was hoping to tile this...

Thing is though, this is in zone 1 right where the shower head is going to go. There is a window just right of the bath. I've had my hand up against the air vent and I can't feel any air coming through it?

Yea I finally figured it out. Was the old style plaster on top of cardboard with metal supports. I ripped all this out and replaced with fresh plasterboard sheets and skimmed over. Perfect wall now :)

So my thought of marine ply with a sheet of the laminate (where can you get this?) would be my best bet then?

I've used the B&Q rubble bags, and they were ok for me - I've still got them, as I've re-used them a few times now. Maybe it was a dodgy batch?
