Thank you, I thought that too, it's just I've seen talk of otherwise and thinking about it I've also been in customers houses with the door straight at the top of the stairs, no landing. I guess many non -compliant and pre-reg lofts out there!
Thank you, I do agree with what you are saying, makes sense with Doc K, it's just very annoying that it doesn't show this actual scenario. I found several instances of people not following this but they couldn't justify why, they just said that it wasn't specifically forbidden. I've seen the...
Digging up an extremely old thread here and I've just posted a reply on another for the same question, but may I ask where that info is from please? Doc K specifies a stair width, then the 400 in addition if the door opens onto the landing. I want it to be just 400 with the door opening into the...
Thanks so much guys and apologies for the late reply, will check out those saws. Might try get a second hand DeWalt, though at that age they have probably had a good life already!
Hey everyone, I'm in the same situation (struggling to interpret Doc K and the much conflicting info out there). Would someone be able to advise me on whether the following layout would be ok please (please excuse my rubbish drawing!)?
My interpretation of Doc K is that I need a stair width...
Thanks for that, he is going to submit the application for me so I'll presume he will do so, hopefully the council don't moan too much if he doesn't. I'll have to take that role if so :D
Hey guys
I've got a fair amount of 8x2s to cut for my loft conversion. Most of my tools are pretty good but my current mitre saw isn't brilliant with accuracy (and won't adjust nicely) so I'm going to take the opportunity to upgrade.
Anyone have any recommendations please? It will never be...
As a side note, you guys on this forum are bloody great. Very helpful and friendly. I've often avoided forums as you can get a lot of snide comments, people arguing for no reason! So, thanks again for all the advice, much appreciated!
Thanks fmt, no doesn't include the LA fees. I've already got all my calculations from the structural engineer, so I'm good to go on that side of things. I'll clarify that the drawings are proper working drawings with the details incorporated etc. Thanks for your advice, super appreciated!
EDIT...
Thank you, in my previous comments to him I did say that I'm happy to deal with with BC, so I don't think that includes him submitting the application. Is it a lot of extra time for him to do that if I ask? I guess he will be used to it unlike myself!
